Royal Blue Relief
{Abigail Ahern enjoying her cosy outdoor living space. Love that bold pendant and those chairs - not sure I could leave them outside though!}
Blues range from soft and calming, to bold electric hues. They can be on the cool or warm side of the scale and really be made to suit any personality or mood. Since the range is so vast, for this post I’m going to stick to the sapphire and navy shades (teal deserves its own, don’t you think). Some of these are in my personal collection and some are just on the wish list.

{Navy Blue Picasso Solid Dyed Cow Hide from Hides of Distinction, via Temple & Webster}
Hides may not be your thing, but the deep luxury of this Navy Blue Dyed Cow Hide from Hides of Distinction can’t be denied. On a side note, I personally think that if people want to eat the meat, they should also try and ensure that nothing else of the animal is wasted. This may be a little controversial, but if we aren’t going to stop slaughter for food, then the most sustainable option is to use every other part. I recently saw an interesting and slightly confronting view related to this in Kevin McCloud’s (from Grand Designs UK fame, as if you don’t know) Man Made Home, where he shot and skinned a deer that was set to be culled and buried. Sorry, this was supposed to be pretty viewing not preaching…. back on track
